Through sports, electives, art classes, community service, and special projects, students have the ability to discover and nurture areas of interest and competency. Since students attend Center School from over a dozen school districts and after-school activities must be limited, these components are built into the school day. Students and teachers often work together to enrich the school community. Middle school students can play against other schools in soccer during the fall, basketball in the winter, and softball in the spring. There are popular Art electives like sculpture, fabric design, and photography. Middle school students can elect to produce an annual play. Recent trips have included the Philadelphia Orchestra, hiking trips, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
